How to care for and burn your Baobab Collection candle?Updated 7 months ago

For the best burning experience, please read the following instructions carefully:

Burning

The quality of our scented candles requires a specific burning ritual. For each burn, it's important to wait until the entire surface has liquefied before extinguishing the candle. This will prevent the formation of craters, which are unsightly and make burning more difficult. The first burn of your candle will always take longer than subsequent burns. Allow time for the first layer of wax to liquefy completely. The duration of this stage varies according to candle size: a MAX10 candle will take 3 to 4 hours, a MAX16 5 to 6 hours, a MAX24 8 to 10 hours and a MAX35 12 to 15 hours.

We also recommend extinguishing the candle within the hour, once the wax surface is completely liquid. This will extend the life of the candle, as liquid wax evaporates much more quickly. Be sure to place the candle on a heat-resistant surface.

Don't leave your candle burning unattended, and don't expose it to heat sources, sunlight or draughts. Exposure to drafts will result in a flickering flame and black smoke.

Be careful not to burn the last 2 cm of wax, as a flame burning against the glass can cause it to shatter. We also advise against throwing used matches into the wax.

Care and maintenance

To preserve the aesthetics and extend the life of your scented candle, it's important to look after it once you've finished burning it.

Keep the burn instructions booklet supplied with your candle. To avoid soot formation, cut the wicks regularly to a maximum height of 0.6cm and clean the inside of the glass with an alcohol-free product. At the end of each burn, reposition the wicks vertically if necessary, as your candle cools. If the candle is lit and one of the wicks burns against the glass, this can cause it to shatter.

You'll find the accessories you need to care for your candle in the Accessories section.
